Sunday Sinisgalli Obituary

Sunday Sinisgalli, 88, of Central Square, New York died peacefully at home with her loving family at her side on Wednesday, April 3, 2024. Born in Syracuse on October 20, 1935 to the late Antonio and Adeline Obbrascia Menga, in her early adult years she and her husband relocated to the Central Square area. She was predeceased by her husband, James "The Guinea" Sinisgalli who died in 2017.

Sunday possessed an amazing work ethic, she retired from Onondaga Pottery as a cup finisher. Following retirement she and her husband James owned and operated Eileen's Diner in Bridgeport, New York and The Boat House in Caughdenoy, New York. James and Sunday had a magic touch in BBQ and developed an amazing following for the BBQ chicken they mastered. She also spent several years as an Ambassador in the Pro Shop and food counter at the former Riverside Golf Club in Central Square, New York. Closing out her working career at her daughters family Tavern, Cindy's Ship @ Shore where she was lovingly referred to by her loyal following as "MOM" and remember for her warm and loving Smile. She was famous for her home made Italian cookies. 

Surviving are daughters, Linda (Dennis) Prosser of North Tonawanda, NY and Cindy (Robert) Shoultes of Central Square, NY; Sister, Connie Menga of Mattydale, NY ; granddaughters, Angela (Mike) Madden, Corrin (Shawn) Parris and Marissa Teller; great-grandchildren, Tyler, Krystian and Hunter Andrzejewski, Natalia Manzi, Jasmyne, Jemma and Jewel Parris; many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be from 12:00-2:00pm on Saturday, April 20, 2024 with a service to follow immediately at Traub Funeral Home, Inc., 684 North Main Street, Central Square, New York. A Celebration of Sunday's Life will be held following services at the Central Square American Legion. Entombment in Our Lady of Peace Cemetery will be private. 

Sunday's family would like to acknowledge and thank the staff at Hospice of C.N.Y. for the wonderful care and support they provided her.
