Larry S. Jordan, 73, of Central Square passed away on Tuesday March 19, 2024 at St. Joseph’s Hospital. A Celebration of Life in Larry’s honor will be held at a future date.
Larry was born in New York Mills, NY to the late Chester and Nellie Jordan on April 15, 1950. He was a high school graduate, and married Marlene Sabloski on November 12, 1994. Larry dedicated many years as a HVAC-R Journeyman, and was a longtime member of the Plumbers and Steamfitters Local Union 267, now Local 81. He made many long lasting personal friendships with his Union Brothers and Sisters. Larry had been a volunteer for numerous years with the New York Mills Fire Department.
Larry’s sense of humor and love of people made him able to strike up a conversation with anyone. He had a strong work ethic, and knew just how to make you feel at ease.
When he wasn’t working, Larry loved relaxing outdoors. He was a deer hunter, enjoyed fishing and camping on the St. Lawrence River, as well as Madison Lake, and was always down for a few rounds of golf. One highlight of his longtime golfing career included scoring a hole in one (with witnesses !!)
Larry is survived by his wife of over 30 years Marlene; his son Larry (Deirdre) Jordan Jr., his grandchildren; Oona and Luca Jordan; his brother Dan (Cheryl) Jordan, as well as numerous nephews, nieces, cousins, close friends and extended family.
The family would also like to express heartfelt gratitude to the entire medical staff, doctors, nurses, PA's and NP's of St. Joseph's Hospital for their care of Larry. Everyone was so very kind, caring, and compassionate, and they all treated Larry with the utmost respect and dignity.
